Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine faces Nishiki Market, and it is a protective shrine that resides at the center of a popular tourist spot, Kyoto Shinkyogoku Shopping Street. It was named after a famous historical figure’s father, Sugawara no Koreyoshi. Then, it was moved to its current location in 1587.
Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine is an oasis in a busy city where you can see seasonal flowers and high-quality, spring water called Nishiki-no-Mizu.
