Draw Colorful Unique Omikuji and Your Happiness at “Karasumori Shrine”

“Karasumori Shrine” (烏森神社) is located very close to Shimbashi Station, Tokyo Prefecture. This shrine is a small one, however, it’s famous for its limited colorful goshuin stamp and omikuji (fortune-telling papers). Many visitors come to pray for a goal to be achieved and business prosperity.

烏森神社(Karasumori Shrine)

Karasumori Shrine was built in the 900s. At the time when the shrine was built, the area surrounding it was a pine forest, and many birds lived and nested there. It seems that the name ‘Karasumori’ comes from this fact. Currently, it’s called ‘Edo Sanmori’ (江戸三森) along with Suginomori Shrine (椙森神社, Kanda) and Yanagimori Shrine (柳森神社, Nihonbashi). By the way, this shrine is known to bring people a variety of benefits such as prayer for victory, business prosperity, improvement of your skills and safety in the household.

People should get its original stamps when visiting this shrine. It writings in 4 different colors: red, blue, yellow and green stamped by tomoemon (巴紋, a Japanese historical pattern like a comma-shaped) and is depicted shrine crest with a bird. In addition, it’s also attractive that there are about 10 kinds of special stamps a year according to the season and events. Depending on the time of visiting, you can get them with different designs.

Furthermore, do not forget to draw the colorful fortune omikuji. It allows you to not only draw the omikuji but also to write wishes on colorful paper and dedicate them. It’s color-coded into 4 colors by your request: red (love, good match), yellow (business), blue (bad luck, work and study), and green (health and family-related matters). Please write your wish with a pen of the same color and string it to the knot with a wish. Why not visit to experience the stamps and omikuji that are unique to Karasumori Shrine?
