The exciting holiday season has arrived! How to enjoy the Christmas Market at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse!

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will hold a “Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse” from November 24 (Friday) to December 25 (Monday), 2023. The Christmas Market, which originated in Europe, has become a popular event in Japan in recent years, but with so many stalls to choose from,  it is hard to decide what to do. In this issue, we will introduce some ways to enjoy the Christmas Market, such as the food, items to get, and must-see photo spots.  The market can be visited on foot from the Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel, so if you are visiting Yokohama during this season, be sure to check it out.

In Europe, Christmas markets appear in squares, parks, and other places in winter, attracting many people. The Christmas market here at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is one of the largest in the Kanto area. Visit with family, friends, lovers, and other loved ones to fully enjoy Christmas. Many stalls sell goods and food inspired by Germany so visitors can enjoy shopping and eating. In addition, a huge Christmas tree, about 10 meters high, will appear at the main venue. It is the most popular photo spot. Taking a picture with the red brick warehouse and the tree will put you in the Christmas mood at once. The illumination changes colors according to the time of day, so enjoy the different colors of the tree during the day and at night.

The Christmas Market offers a wide range of goods such as ornaments for your Christmas tree, Christmas motif accessories, interior decorations for your home, and even food products. Find your favorite ornaments to decorate your tree. If it’s difficult to decorate a tree at home, how about purchasing and displaying smaller items such as snow globes and Santa Claus figurines? Just looking at them will give you the Christmas feeling. You can also find rare items only available here, such as sundries purchased from Europe and handmade ornaments, so try to find your favorites.

About 50 stores, including food and beverage booths and kitchen cars, will be open at the market. Beer, sausages, and German sweets such as Stollen, which is a German custom to eat at Christmas, will also be available for visitors. If you like wine, why not try German mulled wine, a specialty of Christmas markets? This is a drink similar to hot wine, with spices and syrups added to the wine to warm it up, making it perfect for touring the market on a cold day. You can enjoy the Christmas spirit even more by drinking it with an originally designed Christmas mug, which will be sold only at this event.
