3 Cafes with Terrace Seats in Shinjuku Area Where You Can Have Some Breaks Away from Hustle and Bustle

ROSEMARY’S TOKYO

Shinjuku, one of the representative areas of Tokyo, is known as a tourist destination where you can feel and enjoy the city atmosphere by skyscrapers in the area of Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and also rich nature at Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and other spots. You can find many happening eateries inspired by the latest trends, and there are also cafes where you can feel greenery that are away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Here are three cozy cafes with terrace seats that you’ll want to visit when in Shinjuku!

Try fluffy pancakes at “Musashino no Mori Diner” surrounded by greenery

“Musashino Mori Diner” (むさしの森Diner) located really close to the skyscrapers in Nishishinjuku is truly a relaxing cafe overlooking the trees of Shinjuku Central Park that spreads out through the windows. What you must try here is ‘Fuwattoro Pancake’ (ふわっとろパンケーキ). Though you can’t take away, the light snow-like texture realized by making meringue every time an order is placed comes to be addictive once you eat it. When it comes to the breakfast time, you can enjoy a special menu such as Eggs Benedict. If your order is good to take-away, you can enjoy your meal at the outside terrace seats. Enjoy a picnic-like time while tasting butter chicken curry topped with superfoods, and some bread.

The No. 1 Cafe and restaurant, ROSEMARY’S in West Village, a hip and affluent neighborhood in Manhattan, opened its first store in Japan, “ROSEMARY’S TOKYO.” The interior reminiscent of a garden room makes you feel as if you are somewhere outside the building. In the terrace seats, you can calm down in the mood of a therapeutic walk in the forest while feeling the natural breeze. The place offers Italian cuisine making the most of the deliciousness of fresh ingredients from the suburbs of Tokyo. ‘Lemon Ringuine’ (レモン リングイーネ) and ‘Rosemary’s Roast Potato’ (ローズマリーズ・ローストポテト), which identically reproduce the taste of New York, are the signatures. If you want to enjoy less expensively, it is recommended to visit during lunchtime.

Opening Hours11:00AM – 10:00PM
*Business days are according to the building.

“BREIZH Cafe Creperie”, a specialty cafe where you can enjoy authentic French crepes

“BREIZH Cafe Creperie” (ブレッツカフェクレープリー) is an affiliated eatery of ‘Le Bretagne Creperie’ (ルブルターニュ) opened in Kagurazaka, the heart of French community in Tokyo, in 1996 as Japan’s first crepe specialty store. The buckwheat galette baked by the traditional cooking method of Brittany in France has a fragrant surface yet the dough inside is very chewy. And seasonal ingredients such as mushrooms and bacon add rich flavor. For dessert, we recommend the traditional confectionery of French Bretons, ‘Salt Butter Caramel Crepe’ (塩バターキャラメルのクレープ, Caramel Boulesale). On the terrace facing the garden where the flowers of each season are in full bloom, you can spend an elegant time while seeing the flowers through the cider glass in your hand. In the evening, the beautiful lightings on the garden terrace color up your time.
