The highlight of traveling Japan in winter is of course Onsen, isn’t it? Onsen in winter will have you enjoy a breathtaking view of the nature cherished by snow in addition to hot spring bathing. Though some Onsens giving you the great experience are pretty hard to get to, Hiroshima offers a great one that is pretty easy to visit even for those who are traveling with kids. In this issue, let us introduce “Yuki Onsen” (湯来温泉), the ideal destination for your one-day Onsen excursion in Hiroshima City.

Every spot in this issue is accessible on foot from ‘Yuki Lodge’ (湯来ロッジ) to which free shuttle (reservation required) is operated from the north gate of JR Hiroshima Station 3 times a day on weekdays. On weekends and national holidays, get on the streetcar No.2 line from Hiroshima Station to Saeki-kuyakusho-mae Station and transfer to Yuki Lodge bound bus that takes you to the destination in around 75 minutes.
