Feel relax by looking at the collaboration between Tokyo Tower and Cherry Blossom. 2 popular cherry blossom viewing spots in the Daimon area
The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on 14th March that it observed cherry blossoms blooming in central Tokyo, the earliest ever recorded in observation history. You can also come across cherry blossoms starting to bloom around Daimon area. This time, we’re going to introduce 2 spots, allowing you to see not only cherry blossoms but also Tokyo Tower, and their blooming status.
Zojo-ji Temple
Having a history of more than 600 years, this temple is a popular sightseeing spot notable for its relationship with the Tokugawa clan. In the precincts, there are about 200 cherry trees such as Yoshino cherry and Edo Higan which is one of Japan’s three major cherry trees, Yuten-zakura and weeping cherry trees. When they are in full bloom, an elegant view created by them, Tokyo Tower and the temple is laid out before your eyes. It’s also attractive to have a solemn atmosphere unique to temples. As of 18th March when we visited here, a Yoshino cherry began to bloom. By the way, it’s said that almost cheery blossoms would fully bloom at the end of March.

Shiba Park
Being one of the oldest parks in Japan, this park is next to Zojoji Temple. We also recommend those who have little children visit here because anyone can feel the coming of spring while taking a leisurely walk. Here, approximately 140 cherry trees including Yoshino cherry, Yama-zakura and Sato-zakura will gradually color this park against the background of Tokyo Tower. As of 18th March, we found a cherry tree bloomed just like in Zozoji Temple. It’s said that most of cherry blossoms would be in full bloom between late-March and early-April.
