You can experience cherry blossoms at Hibiya Park,(日比谷公園) a business district and so-called urban oasis. According to the cherry blossom forecast, In 2023, the best time to see them will be from late March to early April. The area around ‘Kumogata-ike’ (雲形池, pond) offers a picturesque scenery with a traditional atmosphere, as cherry trees reflect on the water’s surface. You can also enjoy the collaboration between the fountain and Somei-Yoshino (the most planted cherry tree in Japan) at ‘Kamome-no Hiroba’ (かもめの広場 square). Sumida Park, (隅田公園) is lined with cherry blossom trees on both banks for about 1km. Ieyasu Tokugawa planted these trees in 1717, and now approximately 1,000 cherry blossoms are in full bloom. In 2023, the best time to see them will be from late March to early April. Ohanami Cruise with Edo atmosphere will run during the cherry blossom viewing period. If the timing is right, You can take pictures of the Sumida River, cherry blossoms, skyscrapers and the Ohanami Cruise in one photo. In addition, 12 bridges are lit up at night time, you can enjoy the contrast between the colored lighting of the bridges and the fantastic lights reflecting on the water’s surface, as well as the nighttime cherry blossoms swaying in the darkness, creating a mysterious atmosphere.

“Shiba Park”,(芝公園) is one of the oldest parks in Japan. The best time to see cherry blossoms in 2023 is from late March to early April. Shiba Park has 140 cherry blossom trees and you can appreciate Somei-Yoshino blooms against the backdrop of Tokyo Tower, considered a symbol of Tokyo. ‘Shinjuku Gyoen'(新宿御苑) where 900 cherry blossoms of about 70 types are in full bloom. The best time to see cherry blossoms in 2023 is from mid-February to late April. The recommended point is a square right after entering “Okido Gate”(大木戸門). From the spacious area, you can enjoy a beautiful gradation of pink cherry blossoms. It’s a perfect place to enjoy cherry blossom viewing on the glass. For your information, a light-up event that fused cherry blossoms and art is held this year.
