“Seibu Ryokudo Greenway,” with its brightly illuminated night scenery, can be a Christmas photogenic spot
Seibu Ryokudo Greenway is a 635-meter-long walkway connecting Asuwayama Mountain and Fukui City Athletic Park. In winter, the trees and benches on this greenway are decorated with colorful illuminations to create a fascinating and fantastic evening. This illuminated street began to realize in 2009 when local junior high school students proposed the idea to improve the Seibu Ryokudo Greenway to the Committee for Town Development. This year, a 6-meter tall pink & white Christmas tree and a heart-shaped illuminated artwork are also on display, making it a great photo spot for a Christmas date.

“Yurinosato Park” has over 150 thousand lilies in bloom, projection mappings, and a brilliant light tunnel at night!
This park is famous for the “Lily Festa” held every June when about 150 thousand lilies fully bloom in the exhibition gardens. Here is also an amusement place to visit for viewing illuminations. You can enjoy watching projection mappings at night in addition to daytime attractions such as water fountains and streams. During the winter illumination period, a brightly light tunnel and “Plastic Lightning Bug” made from myriad plastic bottles create a fantastic evening. Why not enjoy lunch and dinner with fresh delicious agricultural products from Fukui Prefecture at the ‘Café Lily restaurant,’ and buy some at the ‘Yuri-ichi shop’ as souvenirs?

Maruokajo Castle, the only castle tower in the Hokuriku area, and ‘Naked Hikari Musubi’ joint projection mapping shows are now in progress
The Maruokajo castle was built before the Edo period (1603-1867), but it remains. This type of structure is known as one of 12 existing historical castles in Japan, the “12 Existing Castle Towers.” Maruokajo Castle is the only one remaining in the Hokuriku region and is designated as an important cultural property of Japan. The historic castle and Naked Inc. have collaborated to launch a co-creation projection mapping show in 2021. Visitors can enjoy a projection mapping show featuring the history of Maruokajo Castle projected on the castle tower, along with interactive contents of artworks created by the calligraphy club of the Maruoka High School of Fukui Prefecture. Furthermore, the castle is surrounded by various greenery, so we are delighted with the “light integration” with the leaves in each season.
