Moreover, during this special viewing event, visitors can also experience ‘Nobunaga’s Tea Ceremony’. It’s an exhibition that reproduces the tea ceremony table of Nobunaga Oda, a warlord of the Sengoku period. In fact, Nobunaga often stayed at this temple whenever he visited Kyoto, so he is one of the people who are a strong connection to the temple. It seems that he held a grand tea ceremony at the same temple on November 23, 1573, and served formal samurai dishes served on 3 trays called honzen ryori. (本膳料理, high-grade Japanese meal) This exhibition also features a reproduction of the tea ceremony table, including the plates and vessels used during the ceremony, making it a valuable and unique display. You can enjoy the vibrant garden and the experience of Nobunaga’s tea ceremony until May 31st. why not add this to your list of places to visit on your trip to Kyoto in early summer?
