The small river on the grounds also lights up and transforms into the Glowing River. This river was inspired by a legend that involves Kawagoe Hikawa Shrine. When you come to the shrine, you have to check out this unique fortune. You use a small fishing rod to fish up your Tai-Mikuji (鯛みくじ). These fortunes are shaped like fish and unique to this shrine. There are two types of Tai-Mikuji. The red ones are your standard good luck fortunes. The pink ones are good for love. They even have other colors depending on the season, so you’ll want to collect them all. You can take home your fortune and hang them up or bring them around like a key chain. They say it’s good luck to carry one. They’re also good for “fan-related” luck like winning a concert ticket to your favorite artist.
