Date: August 5th, 2024 (Monday)The theme of Minato Mirai Smart Festival is “SDG-conscious, futuristic city: Yokohama” and it is held in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. Many companies from Yokohama contribute to showcase the charms of Yokohama. All kinds of events happen at various venues. Performances of traditional acts and music; there is something for everyone, so it’s perfect for families. There will also be food trucks and food stands, so you really get that festival feel. At night, over a course of 25 minutes, around 20,000 fireworks are shot up in a show called “Sky Symphony in YOKOHAMA”. Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel is in Minato Mirai and provides easy access to the venue. You can even see the fireworks from some of the rooms facing the sea. A walk through the sky as you gaze over Minato Mirai on the YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN

YOKOHAMA AIR CABIN is Japan’s first cable car that spans cities. It opened in April 2021. Sakuragicho Station to Unga Park Station normally takes 15 minutes to walk but with this it takes 5. You get to see the city of Minato Mirai and the ocean from above. Summer can get very hot, so it’s great transportation. It also feels like a ride at an amusement park. All sides are glass and you can see a unique view all around you. In the evening, you can see a sparkling night view and feel more of a romantic atmosphere. You can access the AIR CABIN stations on foot from Yokohama Sakuragicho Washington Hotel.
