Okinawa’s Sata-andagi (サーターアンダギー) is said to bring good luck. It is a traditional, sweet, fried snack from Okinawa. Every shop does it a little differently. Try and compare different shops if you’re curious. Nansei is a popular Sata-andagi specialty shop on the main street in Naha. They fry after you order, so you can enjoy the fresh, crispy outside and the fluffy, moist inside. Sata-andagi can be quite heavy and filling, but these are different. Women and children can finish them easily. They have 4 different flavors: plain, Yomogi (よもぎ, Japanese mugwort), Okinawa lime (シークァーサー), and brown sugar. Come and try them all!
