Food event in Osaka where you can enjoy famous local dishes at once
Known as an eat-till-you-drop gourmet city, Osaka has lots of restaurants and cafes, Japanese tavern and so on. If you visit Osaka in May, you can’t miss two food events!First of all, we’d like to introduce one of Japan’s largest food events “Niku Fes OSAKA 2019” held at Jiyu Square in Nagai park from 26th April, 2019 to 6th May, 2019. 18 restaurants will gather here from all over Japan and offer their original meat dishes. Of particular note are long-established yakiniku restaurants and popular restaurants in Osaka, such as ‘Yakiniku Ebisu’ and ‘Yakiniku Kojima Namba,’ ‘Horumon Daigoro’ and ‘Kitashinchi kenkonitteki.’ You can savory exquisite meat dishes unique to Osaka.Next, we’d like to introduce “Gyoza Fes OSAKA 2019” held at Taiyo no Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park from 30th April, 2019 to 6th May, 2019. It’s a very popular event attracting over 200,000 people every year because visitors can eat more than 30 types of Gyoza collected from all over Japan. There are not only local Gyoza but also a variety of Gyoza including Gyoza made by craftsmen using homemade dough or fillings made from local specialties, instagrammable Gyoza and so on.
Kyoto and Nara with stunning scenery unique to May
Kyoto is covered with greenery such as Ao-Momiji in May. So, gardens of historical temples and shrines are also brimming with Ao-Momiji, such as ‘Genko-an’ famous for a circle window called Satori no Mado and ‘Komyoji Temple Rurikoin’ trending on social media. Moreover, many festivals and events will be taken place at many parts of Kyoto, such as ‘Saga Matsuri Festival‘ making the Arashiyama area full of energy, one of Kyoto’s three most famous festivals ‘Aoi Festival‘ with a history of 1,400 years and ‘Kamogawa Nouryou-Yuka‘ where visitors can enjoy dining while seeing Kamo river.Visiting Nara next to Kyoto, you will be able to find tourist spots brimming with flowers such as peony and wisteria. For example, ‘Hasedera Temple’ having the largest wooden kannon statue in Japan which is about 10 meters tall. Approximately 150 types of 7,000 peony are in full bloom, and events will be also taken place. In addition, the 800-year-old Sunazuri no Fuji (wisteria) in a world heritage ‘Kasuga Grand Shrine’ is fully bloomed, and its vitality allows you to be impressed.By the way, in both Kyoto and Nara, some historical spots which we can’t see usually open to the public for the limited period.
