“Tachikawa Iseya, Main Shop” allowing you to feel Tachikawa’s tradition and trend
If you buy souvenirs, we recommend that you visit a long-established Japanese confectionery shop “Tachikawa Iseya, Main Shop” with over 60 years of history. Iseya’s Japanese confectionery which has been loved by locals for a long time is made by hand every morning, and the smell from the shop makes you hungry. They sell not only traditional confectionery whose tastes haven’t changed since its opening but also baked sweets using Tachikawa’s specialty ‘Udo (Aralia cordata),’ collaborative products with a Japanese animation ‘A Certain Magical Index’ and so on. “Jewellumination” filled with twinkling light looking like jewels
If you have enough time, please visit an amusement park ‘Yomiuriland’ where it takes about 30 mins by train from Tachikawa station. It’s holding an illuminations event “Yomiuriland Jewellumination -Jewelry Olympus” now, and Yomiuriland is covered with 6.5 million light bulbs that shine like jewels. Let’s explore 12 areas using Greek Mythology as a motif! Moreover, you can enjoy the stunning view while riding on roller coasters and other attractions. In particular, from a window of Ferris wheel ‘Jewelry Congress’, you can see not only illuminations but also a panoramic night view of Tokyo.
