“Osaka Castle Illuminage” whose sparkling light depicts Osaka’s history

Osaka Castle is Osaka’s most imposing historical monument. From 22nd November to 1st March, “Osaka Castle Illuminage” with themes of the end of the Edo period, the Meiji Restoration and the Civilization will be held. The highlight is a picture scroll with a width of 30 meters made of 3 million colorful lights, showing the era of disorder 150 years ago. Besides, at the restaurant booth ‘Roman Shokudo,’ you can enjoy rice curry which was popular during the Taisho period, Takoyaki and so on!

“Kitashoji Sake Brewery” where you can enjoy local sakes to your heart’s content

Have you ever drank local sake from Izumisano city where the hotel is located? “Kitashoji Sake Brewery” opened in 1921 sells local sake, cosmetics made from sake lees which are a by-product created when making sake, and more. On 23rd November, ‘Autumn Sake Brewery Festival’ will be held here. “Mukashin” making confectioneries in a combination of Japanese and Western-styles

We recommend that you get souvenirs at “Mukashin.” It’s a long-established Japanese confectionery shop opened in 1905, but they make not only wagashi but also Western-style sweets such as Baumkuchen and sweets in a combination of Japanese and Western-styles. Don’t forget to try ‘Ukon’ which is very popular among locals! They wrap egg yolk bean paste containing condensed milk in dough in which butter is kneaded, and then, bake them. You will love its mild taste and moist texture.
