千葉港の風景(Scenery of Chiba port)

Located 30 minutes from the heart of Tokyo, Chiba prefecture has various theme parks such as Tokyo Disney Resort and Kamogawa Sea World. On the other hand, it’s also a place rich in nature, surrounded by the sea and mountains. So, there are spots with superb views where many photo geeks gather. Why not visit Chiba to see the scenery with a nostalgic atmosphere?

This time, we’re going to introduce Instagrammable spots around Kisarazu Washington Hotel.

The highest footbridge in Japan “Nakanoshima Ohashi” where couples come visit

中の島大橋(Nakanoshima Ohashi)

“Nakanoshima Ohashi” is the highest footbridge in Japan, which is of 27m in height and 236m in length. The footbridge connects Toriizaki Seaside Park to Nakanoshima Park. Since it was introduced in the popular TV drama ‘Kisarazu Cat’s Eye,’ many couples visit here. You can see the scenery of Kisarazu Port and Kisarazu city on the east side and Tokyo Bay and Keihin area on the west side, and Mt. Fuji appears on a clear day. In the evening, the whole scenery is draped in the orange light of sunset and turns into picturesque scenery. Besides, there is Nakanoshima Park just across the footbridge, where you can enjoy clam hunting from spring to summer.

“Mt. Nokogiri” created by ancient industries and nature

鋸山(Mt. Nokogiri)

Used to be a stone quarry from the Edo era to 1987, “Mt. Nokogiri (saw)” features the jagged ridgeline like a saw. From the observation deck ‘Jigoku Nozoki (View of Hell) ‘ located at the edge of a sharp cliff, you can see a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Bay, Boso Peninsula and so on. It may keep you on my toes, but you will be overwhelmed by the superb view that spreads out before your eyes and your fears will blow away. There are also Japan’s oldest temple ‘Nihonji Temple’ with the largest great Buddha in Japan, the 10m high-walled Stone Quarry Ruins called the Castle of Laputa and so on. This place makes you feel like you’re exploring the world whose time is frozen since the Edo era.

“Egawa Coast” like a mirror of the sky

夕日に照らされる江川海岸(Egawa Coast illuminated by the sunset)

At “Egawa Coast” famous as a spot for clam hunting, you can see a fantastic view that is said to be ‘Uyuni Salt Lake in Chiba.’ When it’s at high tide, the roots of utility poles sink into the sea and look as if they were floating on the sea. The view is reminiscent of the scene of a train appearing in Spirited Away. You can also see ‘Mirror of the sky’ created by the sea reflecting the sky beautifully during the sunrise and sunset.
