‘Jozankei Onsen’ with approximately 150 years of history is one of the most famous hot spring towns in Sapporo, where it takes about an hour by bus from Sapporo Station. It might be good that you visit here to relieve the weariness of the travel after sightseeing in the center of Sapporo. This time, we’re going to introduce 3 snow events held in areas where bus stops of Jozankei hot springs direct bus line ‘KAPPALINER,’ arrival and departure from Sapporo Station, are located.

Experience winter wonderland through exquisite food and playing with snow at “Yukizanmai 2020”

Mt. Hakken featuring rocks like saw located at the top. Covered with much snow in winter, this mountain is a well-kept-secret spot perfect to winter sports. “Yukizanmai 2020” whose theme is ‘Attractions of winter play and food which anyone feels free to experience’ allows visitors to enjoy winter play of Jozankei unique to extremely cold winter to their hearts’ contents. Not only attractions such as dog sledding and snow rafting but also exquisite food using local ingredients. We also recommend that you try BBQ, eating hot grilled meats in the cold, while seeing a wintery view.

“Jozankei Onsen Yukitouro 2020” where gentle light given off by snow candles colors a wintery scenery

“Jozankei Onsen Yukitouro 2020” is held at Jozankei Shrine with over 100 years of history. Countless lanterns made of snow or ice by locals are lit, and a heart-warming and fantastic view spreads out. During the period of this event, ‘light of wishes’ is also taken place. It’s said that your wishes will come true if you carry a candle to a snow tower without putting out it. Besides, don’t forget to savor hot drinks such as ‘Tamanegi Soup,’ one of the most popular souvenirs in Jozankei Onsen, and sweets unique to restaurants in this area.
