Located at Yoshima-machi in Iwaki City, ‘Shiradoya Confection Shop (白土屋菓子店) is an old-established shop with over 60 years of history. Their showcase is lined with Japanese-style and Western-style confectioneries such as castella, madeleine and bean paste buns. Here, the ever-popular sweets is “Super Extra-Large Jumbo Cream Puff.” To our surprise, its diameter is 30 cm. ‘BREAK’ is an old-established coffee shop, which opened in front of Iwaki Station in 1977. Their ever-popular menu is “Mix Grilled Sandwich” that has been loved for a long time. Fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, ham, eggs and so on are put between slices of bread. It seems that they use 1.5 loaves of bread for one serving. All of the ingredients go well with their homemade sauce with a little sour flavor, which is made from mayonnaise and mustard, so you’ll never get tired of continuing to eat them. In addition, the outside edge of the bread becomes crispy by being grilled, and it’s also nice that the ingredients and sauce are not likely to spill. Even if you can’t eat up everything, staff wrap it for you. After 11:00 AM, they offer lunch set served with half-size sandwiches, drink and dessert.
