浅草花やしき(Asakusa Hanayashiki)

The beginning of the park (1853) was opened as a public botanical garden. At first, only plants were displayed such as chrysanthemums and peonies, later, it had also become popular as the zoo by welcoming the animals. After that, amusement facilities were installed such as the roller coaster and established as the current amusement park. Although the park was scaled down during the war, it reopened in 1947, and now is getting attention as the oldest amusement park.

In the amusement park, there is Japan’s oldest roller coaster that exists in Japan today, was installed in 1953. It’s so thrilling because the coaster runs near the buildings. It’s an attraction that can be enjoyed by children to adults. In addition, merry-go-round and Swan’s vehicles are also popular, which make us just feel nostalgic.

We recommend that you enjoy not only attractions but also retro scenery in the park. The amusement facilities, wall pictures and decorations that make you feel the Showa Period (1926-1989), you will want to take pictures unintentionally. Furthermore, ‘Sky Plaza’ is a photo spot where you’re able to see Sensoji Temple and SKY TREE as well as Asakusa Hanayashiki. There are also benches, so you can see a panoramic view around Asakusa while taking a rest.
