Sustainable light-ups creating a heart-warming atmosphere at “SENDAI Pageant of Starlight in Izumi Park Town”

Located in the north part of Sendai, ‘Izumi Park Town’ (泉パークタウン) is a huge residential area home to over 10,000 households, where “SENDAI Pageant of Starlight in Izumi Park Town” (SENDAI光のページェントin泉パークタウン) is now being carried away in the heart of the area until the end of February. At the entrance to the garden of the next building, a tall tree named ‘SGDs Tree’ charmed by colorful lights using electricity generated by biodiesel fuel created from waste oil from eateries in the town welcomes visitors. In addition, you will find 65,000 lanterns scattered at the entrance and in the garden that makes you feel like being lost in the forest of lights. You don’t wanna miss the mysterious reflection of gentle lights of the lanterns on the surface of the pond. Moreover, you can also enjoy the ‘Starlight Wink’, where the lights go out all at once and turn all on again at 6:00PM, 7:00PM, and 8:00PM every day.

Fantastic lights with projection mapping at a modest theme park “Matsushima Rikyu”

At “Matsushima Rikyu” (松島離宮), a garden theme park reproducing Matsushima Bay overlooking it, a lighting-up event in collab with ‘SENDAI Pageant of Starlight’ is now being held. Step into the garden, and you will be in the world of fantasy created by the 96 maple trees and 160,000 lights in champaign gold and seven colors. In every 14 minutes, all the lights are turned off for a minute and then get turned on again. It is nothing but truly a masterpiece that the turning lights give the world in front of you color up with white silver. Also, the projection mapping that reenacts Matsushima’s four seasons and history with sounds and motion images together with the lights is another highlight. Just a small tip for you. In case you’ve successfully found one of the three princess pearl lights in pink among 160,000 lights, you would spend the rest of 2022 happily ever.

A luxury evening to spend at the foot of Sendai’s landmark, “Sendai Trust Tower”, the tallest building in Tohoku region

At the tallest building in Tohoku region, 180m tall “Sendai Trust Tower” (仙台トラストタワー), a season’s lighting-up event ‘Winter Illumination’ decorated with LED lights of 50% less electric power consumption, attracts the people of Sendai every winter. At the main venue Trust City Plaza, you will be fascinated by the beautiful appearance of the square illuminated by jewelry-like champagne gold lights. The tall tree decorated by sphere-shaped ornaments that change their colors placed in the square in front of ‘The Residence Ichibancho’ is also must-see.
