Hamamatsu, Tokyo. Come experience the Japanese culture and seasons in a quiet oasis among the tall city buildings

The place is Hamarikyu Gardens in Tokyo. It is a historical garden with roots in the Edo period, and the garden continuously evolves with the seasons. In May, the fresh new greenery is vibrant. It’s the perfect season to enjoy a little peace away from the noise of the city. One of the highlights of this garden is the pond that is filled with seawater, and the “sea level” changes with the tides. When you cross the bridge and look at the pond, you can see that it is connected to the Tokyo Bay. Even though you’re still in the city, you can feel one with nature here.

When you’re here, be sure to visit the Nakajima Tea House in the center of the pond. The breeze in the trees, the chirping of birds, the sky reflected in the pond — The matcha and Japanese sweets that you have in that environment is an experience like no other. Take a seat here and you’ll be taken back in time to old Japan. The matcha experience here is popular with tourists, and it’s all about the experience. It’s sure to be a trip highlight for millenials and foreigners and anyone in between that is interested in Japanese culture.
