広島の風景(Landscape of Hiroshima)

Hiroshima prefecture in June gradually becomes warmer, and its average lowest temperature is around 20 degrees. One of three gratest festivals of Hiroshima will be held, so you can feel the beginning of summer earlier than other prefecture while enjoying cheap but tasty local foods. Speaking of summer, you may feel you they crave for eating shaved ice. There is a shop offering a variety of shaved ice with unfamiliar textures that you’ve never tasted before in Hiroshima. Why not go on a trip to Hiroshima to enjoy the early summer to your heart’s content?

This time, we’re going to introduce a festival held around Hiroshima Washington Hotel and our recommended cafe.

A historical temple Enryuji Temple built in 1619 by Nagaakira Asano who was the first lord of the domain of Hiroshima. Here, “Tokasan Festival” with 400 years of history will be held from 7th June to 9th to deify the Inari Daimyojin, which is one of the Hiroshima’s three greatest festivals along with Ebisuko Festival and Sumiyoshi Festival. The area around Enryuji Temple will be a pedestrianized area and filled with about 1,000 food stalls all side by side. In addition, this festival is also called known as ‘Yukatadekin Matsuri,’ meaning  yukata festival, because visitors can see yukata show and buy new arrival yukata. The scenery where people in yukata come and go through the venue illuminated by red lanterns looks like a midsummer night’s dream. Why not attend this festival with wearing yukata?
