Myondong Kyoja (明洞餃子) is located in the most famous downtown area, Myeong-dong (明洞) in Seoul. The standard menu is Kalgksu with MANDU (Korean dumplings). The delicious chicken soup mixes well with the homemade noodles and is popular for its mellow and mild taste. The soup has a perfect thickness, and the noodles are topped with a lot of toppings such as minced chicken, wontons, and Korean pumpkin. It’s a popular restaurant that has been featured in the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand several times, so it’s crowded every day for lunch and dinner, but the inside is spacious and the turnover is quick, so you can usually get in right away. It’s also great access on foot from Hotel Gracery Seoul, so if you are looking for Korean gourmet food that you can easily eat near your hotel, you should check it out!

Experience Rich Flavors at Dwaeji-gukbap Specialty Restaurant, Gwangwamun Gukbap

光化門クッパ(Gwanghwamun Gukbap)

Gwanghwamun Gukbap is a popular Korean restaurant known for its Dwaji Gukbap (pork soup) and Korean cold noodles. While Dejigukbap is a specialty of Busan, the version here features a clear soup rather than the Busan-style cloudy soup. One of its secrets is that it has no pork smell and has a refreshing taste. Typically, Kuppa has rice in the soup, but it’s served separately at this restaurant. After enjoying the taste of the soup and freshly cooked rice, we recommend mixing and eating them together. Salted shrimp is provided on the table, so please adjust it to your taste. It’s great access on foot from Hotel Gracery Seoul like Myondong Kyoja that we introduced, so be sure to visit.

Samcheongdong Sujebi, located in Samcheongdong, is a Korean-style flour dumpling soup specialty restaurant. This restaurant is always crowded with many people and is a standard restaurant for locals and Korean lovers. It’s also constantly listed in Michelin Bib Gourmand. The light and refreshing soup made from seafood broth, with smooth and slippery dumplings reminiscent of wontons, has a good reputation. The umami soup is light, and adding kimchi is a great way to change its flavor. This restaurant is made of old brick and has a very quaint atmosphere. There are many old houses and historic buildings in the surrounding area, so we recommend visiting while taking a walk!
