Tokyo’s Kasai Rinkai Park opened in 1989. It is the biggest park in the prefecture. In the park, you can find a Ferris wheel, an aquarium, an aviary, and flowerbeds. It’s perfect for a weekend getaway. In the spring, cherry blossoms bloom in the Ferris wheel area, so you can enjoy a picturesque view. The “Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel” is a symbol of the park and the largest Ferris wheel in Japan. Enjoy the view from 117m above the ground. The seaside area with the Rainbow Bridge and Umihotaru. The city area with the Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Tower. All the way to the Boso Peninsula and Mount Fuji. You can see all of this as if you’re taking a walk in the sky. Each group gets their own gondola, so no strangers ride with you. You get a discount, if you show a ticket for the aquarium (seen below), so be sure to check it out.

You can see over 600 types of sea creatures from around the world and local ones from Tokyo Bay at Tokyo Sea Life Park. One of its memorable features is the large glass dome that sits 30.7m above the ground. The place, surrounded by water, was built by famous Japanese architect, Yoshio Taniguchi. It’s made to feel like you’re diving into the ocean when you walk in. Inside, the star of the show is the school of bluefin tuna that swim around a donut-shaped aquarium. You can see their powerful movements up close. The shark and stingray exhibits are also exciting. A lot of thought was put into the presentation of each aquarium. You might even forget about time as you stare into the beautiful ocean for hours. The penguin area is one of the largest in Japan. It’s popular, but please note that this area is set to be temporarily closed from January 2024 to the end of October (may change).
