【Limited time only】Viewing of maple leaves at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto！

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto is a well-known place in Japan. Every year, they open their maple garden to the public during the summer. You can go see these fresh Aomomiji (青もみじ, maple leaves that are not red yet) for a limited time from April 6th to June 30th, 2024. The soft sunlight peeking through the fresh greenery is a sight that can only be seen during this time.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the main shrine with about 12,000 related shrines in the country. A famous god of education is enshrined here. Many people from Japan come here to pray, and many people from outside the country come to visit this famous tourist spot. Odoi (御土居) are protective structures made from earth that were built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. From above the Odoi, you can see the green maple leaves spread out like a carpet. From below, you can see the sunlight shining down on the vibrant greenery that marks the start of summer.
