【100th anniversary】Come have a relaxing afternoon at Kyu Shiba Rikyu Park
Kyu Shiba Rikyu Park is a major park that celebrated its 100th anniversary o April 20th, 2024. The grand stone structures showcase traditional Japanese trends and the place is very popular with tourists. From April 2024 to March 2025, for its 100th anniversary, there will be several special events.
Kyu Shiba Rikyu Park was built in the Edo period (1603 – 1868). In 1924, it was gifted to Tokyo Prefecture as a wedding gift to the emperor and it was opened to the public. It has since been a popular spot for tourists and local residents.
The stone structures, trees, flowers, massive stone lanterns, and the central pond. It’s a compact park but full of things to see. It’s an oasis amidst the city buildings. Come feel the seasons change or see a very Japanese landscape.
