Gion’s Spiritual Spot “Yasui Konpiragu Shrine” Breaking Off Bad Relationships And Initiating Good Ones
“Yasui Konpiragu Shrine(安井金比羅宮)” is located in Gion, the typical downtown of Kyoto. It’s a spiritual spot known as ‘breaking off bad relationships and initiating good ones.’ The power stone monument with various wishes written on them is also a symbol of this shrine. It’s especially recommended for those who want to break off a bad relationship.
It’s Emperor Sutoku(崇徳上皇), the main deity of Yasui Konpiragu Shrine. Since the deity abandon all worldly desires, confined himself to Kotohiragu(金刀比羅宮) in the land of Sanuki(讃岐), this shrine has been considered a place of player for abstinence and attracted many believers. It is said that there is a benefit for marriage and possible to break off all bad relationships not only between people and men and women but also illness, alcohol, smoking, gambling and desire.
The symbol of the shrine is the huge stone shaped like an ema with a height of 1.5 meters and a width of 3 meters ‘monument for breaking off bad and initiating good relationships’. It is said that the power of good passes through the hole in the middle of it. The appearance of the white KATASHIRO stuck so tightly where the monument can’t be seen, many people may feel a little scared.
After worshiping the main inner sanctuary, write down your wishes on the KATASHIRO(形代, called substitution charm). And, go through the hole in the monument from front to back. This first walk will rid you of bad relationships. Next, go the opposite way, back to front, to initiate good relationships. It is said that your wish will come true to recite it in your mind. Lastly, stick your KATASHIRO to the monument after going through the hole.
If you want to ‘cuts off the bad relationships for illness and disaster’ and ‘make for good marriage’, why not visit the shrine?
