“Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum(三菱一号館美術館)” opened in Marunouchi, Tokyo in 2010. Among many modern buildings lined up, the elegant red-brick facade of this museum will catch your eye in the district. The museum has been replacing the exhibitions regularly, it is attractive to be able to appreciate different works depending on the time.

The red-brick building, which can be said to be a symbol of the museum, has been restored the Mitsubishi Ichigokan which was built in 1894. It was designed by the English architect Josiah Conder, whose work includes western-style Rokumeikan(鹿鳴館), is generally acknowledged to be the ‘Father of modern Japanese architecture.
