You Can Enjoy Both TOKYO SKYTREE®and Cherry Blossoms – Hidden Cherry Blossom Viewing Spot “Yamatanihori Park”
“Yamatanihori Park” is located in Taito-ku, Tokyo is a municipal park constructed by reclaiming a waterway used in the Edo period. The park which was maintained over 700m from Nihonzutsumi to Sumida River is planted with cherry blossoms along the promenade, and it becomes a hidden cherry blossom viewing spot in spring. It is a park where you can enjoy the spring weather while taking walk from the Sumida River.
Yamatanihori Park was originally a waterway that flows from Otonashi River, Kita-ku to Sumida River. Chokibune boats (猪牙船) heading for Yoshihara were coming and going during the Edo period, and it was crowded with many people. The park is characterized by an elongated shape because it was created by reclaiming the waterway. Currently, it’s maintained as a place of relaxation for water and greenery, and various plants such as azalea and hydrangea are planted along the road leading northwest from Suida Park.
This park is known for its ‘hidden cherry blossom spot’. In the season from late March to early April every year, the promenade in the park turns pink color as far as the eye can see. You can enjoy taking a leisurely walk while going through the cherry blossom tunnel. In addition, while many people visit Sensoji Temple and Sumida Park, it’s also popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot where you can avoid a crowd of people.
Furthermore, the park is a superb view spot where you can take pictures of TOKYO SKYTREE®️. In spring, it allows you to take wonderful pictures in collaboration with cherry blossoms and TOKYO SKYTREE®️ . Why don’t you enjoy the view of the SKYTREE and the cherry blossoms at the same time while taking a walk in the park?
