The sparkling water, the scent of the sea, the sounds of the monorails. The Shibaura Futo Wharf is a hidden gem near the bay that makes you forget you’re still in the city. From Tamachi Station, take a short walk to the Yurikamome Line and ride it for one stop. There, you will find a stunning view between the high-rise buildings. There is a path along the canal, so it’s a great spot for a walk or jog, too. Or you can sit on the bench and look out at the ocean and the boats under the bridge. Time seems to pass more slowly here. On sunny days, you can see the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Bay skyline. At sunset, the water becomes a magical gradient of warm colors. Since it isn’t a tourist trap, you get to spend your time peacefully. Bring your camera to take pictures or take a quick break at a cafe after a walk. The contrast of water and foliage is beautiful at Hamarikyu Gardens

Hamarikyu Gardens is located in the center of Tokyo but it is a whole new world. This spot has its roots in the Edo period (1603-1868), and it changes with the seasons. In June, around 1,000 flowers of purple and white in the center of the park are in bloom. The walkway around the pond are lined with wisteria, pine trees, and willow trees. Every corner of the park has nature to heal you. Look up and see the high-rises through the trees, a unique sight you can only find in the city. On sunny days in June, the plaza in front of the buildings and Hibiya Park are bright and green. You’ll forget you’re in the center of the city. In the buildings, you’ll find unique boutiques, high-end restaurants, art spaces, and all sorts of spots. It is a popular area for young women in their 20s and 30s.
