“Tsuruhane Shrine” with spiritual love energy where relics from before the atomic bombing remain

“Tsuruhane Shrine (鶴羽根神社)” is located in the city area, a 5-minute walk from Hiroshima Station, but is surrounded by a solemn and sacred atmosphere that makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The origin of the name seems to be that the look of Mt. Futabasan (currently Mt. Shiiki) behind the shrine resembles the appearance of a crane with its wings spread. The five gods are enshrined. You can get various benefits such as prosperity of descendants, the prosperity of business, and extermination of evil, but among them, ‘Izanagi no Mikoto’ and ‘Izanami no Mikoto,’ the first couple among the Japanese gods, are famous for the benefits of marriage. Japan’s national scenic spot “Shukkeien Garden” where camellias and plums are in full bloom during winter

“Shukkeien Garden (縮景園)” is said to have been made since 1620 for many years in imitation of the world-famous scenic spot ‘Sai Lake’ in Hangzhou, China. In the center of the garden, there is a vast pond with more than 10 large and small islands, and mountains, valleys, bridges and tea rooms are cleverly arranged around it, creating a relaxing and quaint scenery. Cherry blossoms and peaches in spring, fresh greens that sprout in summer, colored leaves in autumn, plums and camellia in winter brightly color the park, and the spectacular scenery with different faces depending on the season will delight your eyes. In this season, you can enjoy the scenery that makes you feel the Japanese atmosphere and the winter tradition ‘Komomaki (菰巻き) of protecting pine trees and cycads from harmful insects and the cold.

“Hiroshima Museum of Art” allowing us to appreciate more than 300 works drawn by the world’s masters and enjoy the design of the building’s inside and outside

“Hiroshima Museum of Art (ひろしま美術館)” has a collection of about 300 pieces, including modern French art centered on Impressionists such as Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir, Japanese Western paintings and Japanese paintings. It is a nice point to be able to appreciate various works of different times and styles at once. In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are also special exhibitions focusing on one painter and theme, so check it out. “Goemon Ebisumachi Main Shop” offering over 50 types of Teppanyaki and Hiroshima’s exquisite local dish ‘Unihoren’

At the end of the trip, head to “Goemon Ebisumachi Main Shop (五エ門 胡町本店)” for a delicious dinner. It is a popular teppanyaki restaurant with 9 stores in the prefecture. In the bright and cozy atmosphere, you can taste more than 50 kinds of creative teppanyaki. Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, which is made by seasoning both vegetables and noodles and grilled crisply, is highly recommended, but the one that you can’t miss is “Unihoren (ウニホーレン)”. Sea urchin is a local ingredient in Hiroshima where boiled spinach is lightly fried in butter and soy sauce, and plenty of sea urchin is placed on top of it. The rich sweetness of the sea urchin matches the butter soy sauce-flavored spinach, and the cheeks should be about to fall off. It is also the best gem for sake.
